Consultation: Review of Practitioner Fees

The Medical Radiation Technologists Board (the Board) is proposing an increase to various practitioner fees.
The proposed fees changes will not take effect until the Board’s 2018-2019 financial year which commences on 1st April 2018 (please note, APC renewal fees for 2018-2019 are payable during February to March 2018).

Practitioner fees set by the Board have remained unchanged since 2007 despite a steady increase in operating costs over successive years.  The Board has achieved this by funding operating costs from an accumulated operational surplus.  However the level of available funds is now at a point where the Board can no longer continue to meet its operational costs and have sufficient available reserves whilst maintaining the same level of income.  Subsequently the Board is proposing to increase the various fees for practitioners so it can continue to meet its responsibilities in protecting the health and safety of the New Zealand public.

The Board values your thoughts, please read through the consultation document below and provide your feedback to:

All comments will be considered by the Board prior to a final decision being made.  Feedback must be received by 29th September 2017 after which all submissions will be considered by the Board at their meeting on 12th October 2017.
