New Zealand Graduates

The New Zealand courses of training available at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT), Universal College of Learning (UCOL), UNITEC and the University of Otago’s Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences have been accredited by the Medical Radiation Technologists Board as meeting registration standards.

These courses are monitored by the MRTB as required by the HPCA Act, including a site visit every five years, to satisfy the Board that graduates have achieved an adequate standard of skills, knowledge and experience for them to be registered as medical radiation technologists.

Students graduating from these courses are required to be registered and hold an Annual Practising Certificate (APC) prior to commencing work. This application form has been designed specifically for graduating students as it incorporates both an application for registration as an MRT in New Zealand and an application for an APC. application form The Board acknowledges that you will want to commence work as soon as possible and has streamlined the process for you this year.

Please note that the fee for an application for registration is $315 and the fee for an APC is $275. (The fee for any application for registration is non-refundable.) You may submit your application and fee payment at any time and once the Registrar has received notification of your successful course completion, we will commence the registration process. Normally you will receive your Certificate and APC within 5 working days of notification. Please ensure you notify us of any change of address.
